José Ortega y Gasset

Liberalism —it is well to recall this —is the supreme form of generosity; it is the right which the majority concedes to minorities and hence it is the noblest cry that has ever resounded in this planet. It announces the determination to share existence with the enemy; more than that, with an enemy which is weak.

José Ortega y Gasset

José Ortega y Gasset (9 May 1883 – 18 October 1955) was a Spanish liberal philosopher and essayist working during the first half of the 20th century while Spain oscillated between monarchyrepublicanism and dictatorship. He was, along with KantSchopenhauer, and Nietzsche, a proponent of the idea of perspectivism.

note:  1.  Perspectivism is the philosophical view developed by Friedrich Nietzsche that all ideations take place from particular perspectives.
